Artist Birungi Kawooya leads a creative workshop exploring West African batiks inspired by Ayo Akingbade's films commissioned by Chisenhale Gallery.

Birungi Kawooya is an artist and educator whose work engages with African diasporic culture, focusing on dance, nature and well-being. In 2022, Kawooya was the artist-in-residence at the Njabala Foundation in Uganda, and has run arts programmes and workshops at galleries across the UK.
