Josephine Baker - painted green matooke leaves - fine art prints
Josephine Baker danced topless in an iconic banana skirt proudly flaunting her African heritage on the world stage. Instead of drawing her on stage, I envisaged her back home on continent of Africa, posing atop green matooke (banana) leaves. Her stance is powerful and she goes after what she wants.
Technique
The original artwork is comprised of hand cut black card and bold golden brown Ugandan batik fabric and painted with water colour.
The artwork is available to order as a fine art print in A4, A3, A2, A1 and A0 on watercolour paper.
