Hosted by Chisenhale Studios, join me and let your child reimagine your gorgeous face using plant life foraged from Bow, banana fibres from Uganda and vibrant African print textiles. Remember you get to make a portrait of your child and you will both surprise yourself with your imagination!

Workshops are designed for children aged 6 to 12 and their adults. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Booking guarantees a place but drop-ins will be accommodated within capacity.

Birungi Kawooya is a collage artist and art tutor researching ways of being well in community. With a focus on promoting mental well-being, Birungi leads Mindful African art programmes and creates spaces to help people work through anxiety, stimulate their imagination and connect to vibrant African textile designs. Birungi creates artworks using paper, paint, sculpture, natural fibres and batik indigenous to Uganda.
